Appointment of Pastor Nick Gainey
We are thrilled to announce the installment of Nick Gainey as an elder at Crosspoint!
Nick has faithfully served our body since 2016 as our Worship and Youth Minister. Our church body has found him to meet the requirements laid out in 1 Timothy 3: above reproach; the husband of one wife; sober-minded; self-controlled; respectable; hospitable; able to teach; not a drunkard; not violent but gentle; not quarrelsome; not a lover a money. Nick manages his household well, and is a strong and steady believer. We have no hesitations in appointing him as an elder over our body.
Nick and his wife, Jami Lee, live in Rowlett with their three kids: Beau (8), Behr (5), and Carmen (1). Outside of his staff position at Crosspoint, Nick owns a t-shirt printing company and leads an event worship band.
Before joining Crosspoint, Nick helped plant C3 in Rowlett and served as their Worship Pastor. He also served as Associate Worship Pastor at First Baptist Rockwall. Nick graduated from Howard Payne University in 2008 with a degree in Kinesiology.
Of his appointment, Nick said, “Our family loves Crosspoint and it’s been a joy for us to be a part of this church. I’m humbled to be able to serve our body alongside the other elders here.”

Since day one, Crosspoint has been led by a plurality of elders. This includes Pastors Ky Martin, Lance Shumake, Ryan Lewis, and now, Nick Gainey.
Our elders oversee, shepherd, and lead our church in a true plurality. Among them is no first among equals; they all work alongside one another, using their gifts to best serve our body. We see this as the normative pattern for eldership in scripture and believe it is the most healthy way to lead and edify our church.
