How you
can serve in the midst of Covid-19

Write a heartwarming card to those who are socially isolated
Those in hospitals and assisted living centers are having an especially hard time being in isolation. Many are being put under extreme lockdown procedures, where they can't leave their rooms and the only face-to-face interaction they receive is from nurses, aids, and food delivery.
This is a great opportunity for us to step in as the church and help lift these people's spirits! It would also be a fantastic way to get your kids involved in serving! Here are some ideas for letter writing:
- Discuss fun things your family has been doing
- Write about what you are thankful for
- Write funny stories or details about your life
- Come up with a word puzzle or crossword
- Cut up a drawing and make it into a puzzle
- Include a picture, if you want!
If you aren't connected with a facility, feel free to send your cards to one of the below:
Arbor Terrace Lakeway
Attn: Austin Wolff
300 Medical Pkwy
Lakeway, TX 78738
The Waterford at Mesquite
Attn: Tijuana Miller
700 N Town East Blvd
Mesquite, TX 75150
Another option, Baylor Scott & White is allowing people to send e-Greetings to patients
at their hospitals. In the patient name field, just list "Dear Baylor Patient". The recipients will route to patients that might need a pick-me-up.

Sew masks for area homeless
The homeless are especially high-risk for contracting Covid-19. The
SoupMobile in Dallas is in need of 10,000 masks to cover the needs of this population.
If you can sew and would like to donate, this is a great opportunity. Store-bought masks are also accepted, please no N95s.
Drop-offs are accepted from 8 to 11 am Monday - Saturday at the SoupMobile Church
in Dallas.

Make peanut butter and jelly sandwiches
The SoupMobile is in need of peanut butter and jelly sandwiches, chips, cookies (individually wrapped in ziplock bags or pre-packaged).
Drop-offs are accepted from 8 to 11 am Monday - Saturday at the SoupMobile Church
in Dallas.

Bring grocery items to Helping Hands
A great way you can support neighbors through Helping Hands is by making a food donation. This is a big need in our communities right now!
Simply order a grocery pick-up and drop off your donations at the Rockwall Helping Hands Food Pantry (401 W. Rusk St, Suite 200). Their hours are 9 am to 12 pm and 1 to 4 pm on Mondays, Tuesdays, and Thursdays. Just pull up to the brown double doors and leave your donations in the baskets outside. You don't even have to go inside the building!
Their current needs are:
- Shampoo
- Conditioner
- Toothpaste
- Toothbrushes
- Deodorant
- Shaving supplies
