Thoughts in light of the overturn of Roe
"With years of leading 'Surrendering the Secret', a Bible study that helps post-abortive women find healing and forgiveness, I can say that I'm thankful Roe vs. Wade has been overturned.
I've seen many women broken and struggling with their decision to abort. Some were believers when they made the choice and some were not. Some knew they were making a wrong choice, but did it anyway. Some didn't understand fully what the choice was.
Each woman left the clinic broken, empty, and immediately regretting their choice. They have spent years dealing with the pain and trauma, and made further destructive choices to numb the accompanying guilt and pain.
So many women feel that this [abortion] is the one thing the Lord cannot forgive them of. It's heartbreaking to watch these women be wrought with so much guilt and shame. I'm thankful for the resource of "Surrender the Secret" to help walk these women through the truth of God's word and recognize the lies of the enemy and the bondage he has kept them in for so long. I've seen them healed and set free and watch them share their story to encourage those around them that they don't have to continue to carry the guilt and shame of their sin.
1 in 4 women of childbearing age has had an abortion. We all know someone, just no one talks about it for fear of being judged.
If the news of this law being overturned upsets you, let's talk about it.
If the news brings relief, but you are struggling with the shame and guilt of your own abortion -- let's talk. I'd love to help you see how the Lord's forgiveness covers your sin. Yes, even this one.
If the news brings joy, please don't neglect the ministries that reach those women who feel abortion is still their only answer. Get involved and continue to hold forth the light of God's word. The enemy is crafty and will continue to work to steal, kill, and destroy."
