Background of Hebrews
Author - unknown
Audience - vague
Destination - not clear
Occasion - the writer of Hebrews is warning Christians not to turn away from faith in Christ in the midst of trials, and he is exhorting them instead to press on to full spiritual maturity.
Theme - Jesus is better
Jesus is better than anything else we would be tempted to turn to or fall back on.
Jesus is the heir of all things
Jesus is the creator of the world
Jesus is the radiance of the glory of God
Jesus is the exact imprint of God’s nature
Jesus is upholding the universe by the word of power
Jesus is the great high priest who made purification for our sins
Jesus is seated at the right hand of God the Father
Jesus is the ultimate prophet, priest, and king
