Scott Hooper
"I lost my earthly father and gained a relationship with my heavenly one."
My dad was my rock. He would have done anything for me or my siblings. However, in March of 2005, after a long battle with cancer, I lost my dad. A couple months after that, a serious relationship I was in, ended.
I was on anti-depressants, anti-anxiety pills, and I turned to drinking. I was hateful to almost everyone I knew. I had exchanged the truth of God for a lie. My dad was my tower, and when that got pulled out from under me, everything else crumbled because it was built on a bad foundation. My life was a mess.
I went to see my doctor and he said two things to me. “Scott, you need to exercise and you need to find Jesus.” I knew I needed Jesus and that was serious redirection for me.
I’d lost my dad and a serious relationship, but here I am, 14 years later and I’m telling you - I have the most wonderful wife in the world and three wonderful sons.
I lost my earthly father and gained a relationship with my heavenly one.
